Adoption Center Hours

Our Adoption process has changed! Adoption services are available to drop-in visitors, seven days a week. View our Adoption Center webpage for more information.
Monday – Friday : 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday + Sunday : 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

To ensure all animal visits and adoptions are completed, we will stop conducting any new animal meets one hour prior to closing.

Monday – Friday : 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday + Sunday : 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Please click here to make an appointment for relinquishment or euthanasia/cremation services. Appointments for animal services are recommended, but not required. Appointments are available until 30 minutes before we close. If you found a stray animal or need to reclaim an animal, please call us at 303-442-4030 so we can help you upon your arrival.

Please do not leave donations outside of these hours. Abandoned items impede our ability to provide critical care to animals in need, and are expensive to dispose of. For a list of items we accept, please click here.

Boulder Animal Protection

COVID-19 Information: The HSBV animal care team is prepared to provide ongoing support to the pets of community members impacted by COVID-19 by sheltering dogs, cats, and small animals. If you are in need of assistance, please contact City of Boulder Animal Protection or your local agency. We are coordinating with area animal agencies and human service organizations to facilitate deployment of food, pet supplies, medical care, and animal transport as necessary.

For calls regarding a stray or injured domestic animal in the city limits of Boulder, please contact City of Boulder police dispatch at (303) 441-3333. To report domestic animal conflict such as nuisance barking, general questions, and non-emergencies, please call Boulder Animal Protection directly at (303) 441-1874.
