We’re so lucky to have supporters of all ages. It’s never too early to start helping the animals of the Humane Society of Boulder Valley! HSBV cannot accommodate every request for facility tours, but you can still get to know HSBV and support the animals! There are so many ways to help pets in need; below are just a few ideas:
Volunteering: Youth between the ages of 7 and 14 can volunteer alongside an adult as part of a Pets and Pals team. Please view our current volunteer opportunities to see what volunteer positions are available to Pets and Pals teams!
Fostering: Providing foster care is a great way for young people to get hands-on experience helping animals in need. Learn more about our Foster program!
Bake Sale: Hold a bake sale with people food and animal treats or open a lemonade stand. Advertise in your neighborhood and let all your friends know that you are fundraising for the animals!
Hold a pet food and supply drive at your school: Make posters announcing when the drive will be held, how food will be collected, and that you are donating to the animals at HSBV. Students can make a graph of their progress and announce final results to the whole school. This project can also be done with a neighborhood and other social groups. View our wish list. We also welcome homemade dog and cat toys – host a craft day to pair with your supply drive!
Do a penny drive for pets: Put a container in your classroom and ask your friends and classmates to bring in their pennies. Pennies really do add up!
